Fractional CFO for family-owned companies

I run finance for companies that have outgrown their bookkeeper and are not ready for a full-time CFO. Most have between five and forty million dollars in revenue, and most are owned by the people who work in them.

What I take on

Monthly

A close you can read. Books closed by the tenth working day, with a two-page report written for owners instead of accountants.

2 days a month

Weekly

A thirteen-week cash forecast. What comes in, what goes out, and the week it gets tight, updated every Monday.

1 hour a week

Quarterly

Margin by product and customer. Which lines earn their keep, and which ones the business is quietly paying to sell.

1 day a quarter

As needed

The bank, the bonding company, the buyer. I prepare the package, sit in the meeting, and answer the hard questions.

How an engagement starts

Week 1

A forty-five minute call. You tell me what keeps you up at night. I tell you whether I can help, and who can if I cannot.

No charge

Weeks 2 and 3

A review of your books. I read two years of statements, the bank agreements and the close process, and talk to whoever keeps the books.

Fixed fee

Week 4

A written plan. Three to five pages: what I found, what I would fix first, and what an ongoing arrangement would cost.

Yours to keep
